This course is proposed to people who are not able to join the scheduled workshops. Schools, organisations, group of friends who want a specific and customised experience (content, date) are invited to contact us to organise a course.
You can choose the topics you need among the followings:
Classroom sessions
- Thermal mass and insulation
- Passive cooling and heating
- Drainage and foundations
- Bio-climatic design: reflect on your building project and make a draft design of your home that will be discussed with the instructor
Hands-on sessions
- Soil testing
- Earth building techniques: Cob, Wattle and daub, Adobe, Light Earth
- Earth plastering
- Earth painting and decoration
- Installing door/window frames, electricity
General information
- Trainer Alain Madec, natural builder and founder of ‘Baan Din Doi’
- Venue ‘Baan Din Doi’, 30 minutes from Chiang Rai city
- Course in English, with a maximum of eight participants
- Schedule 8.30am to 5.30 pm with an hour lunch break. Check-in one day before, around 4PM. Check-out the last day (day 8) at 4 PM
Food: vegetarian or non-vegetarian

Price
The price depends on the number of days and if you will stay at Baan Din Doi or in a nearby resort/home stay. Discount offered for two people or more.
