Join our 3-day Bamboo Craft Workshop in Chiang Rai, Thailand, and learn to create small objects and furniture with bamboo, one of the most sustainable and renewable resources in the world.
Guided by natural builder Alain Madec, this hands-on workshop at Baan Din Doi blends practical experience and essential knowledge. Baan Din Doi is a natural-building learning center located just 30 minutes from Chiang Rai city. Surrounded by bamboo, fruit trees, earth buildings and mountain air, it is a peaceful place for hands-on learning, personal reflection, and creative work.

What You’ll Learn
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
- Select, cut, and treat bamboo for strength and longevity
- Understand principles of bamboo craft
- Pracatise a few joining and lashing techniques
- Build small furnitures or decorative objects
- Safely use essential tools like machete, drill, and grinder
You’ll also receive a training manual, a useful reference for your future projects.

Trainer
Alain Madec, natural builder and founder of Baan Din Doi Thailand, has over 8 years of experience in sustainable construction. He has guided tens of students through their first steps in bamboo and earth building.
